1 Samuel 2:8 – “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has established the world upon them”

Towering pillars of intrusive basalt are exposed at the ocean floor today, for ALL to see!

“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?” This is what Almighty God said to Job when He asked him to contemplate God’s creation of our planet . . . “On what were its bases sunk?” Suggesting that the foundation of earth is composed of pillars with bases sunk deep into the structural recesses of earth. (Job 38:4-6)

The structural foundation of Earth today, displays evidence for the layers and regions of our planet displaying the perfection of God’ Word.

This is an alluring call for souls to receive the truth . . . “because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:19-20)

His plan of redemption since the beginning of time has ordained that ALL of creation will shout out to the Glory of God . . . (Luke 19:40)

Our planet’s foundational structure is steadfast.

Current day scientific exploration of the ocean floor reveals that towering pillars of intrusive basalt are its composition! Holy Scripture describes these pillars as the foundation of earth and scientific research asserts that this pillar-like foundation continues beneath the continents as well.

My journey of discovering the accuracy of Holy Scripture began with a map of the ocean floor created by artist/cartographer Marie Tharp and geologist/cartographer Bruce Heezen. They paired up to systematically map the floor of the ocean way back in the 60’s and their project was supported by the United States Naval Office of Research.

The discovery of these scientific explorers was monumental. And it was at this point in time when the idea of continental drift became known as plate tectonics. This was a new discovery that was widely promoted.

But there are many discrepancies with this theory and questions arose about how pillars of basalt were formed at the ocean floor. And, how could a grand canyon winding through the center of the mid-Atlantic ocean be referred to as a massive underwater mountain range?

Searching God’s Word for answers resulted in multiple verses of Holy Scripture clarifying these concepts in a profoundly descriptive way.

The Great Deep presents Scriptural and geologic evidence for the transformation of our planet at the onset of Noah’s Flood as … “all the fountains of the great deep burst forth” . . . a time when the foundation of earth was laid bare.

The ocean floor map reveals evidential characteristics described by many verses of Holy Scripture.

Have you ever stopped to think about where the fountains of the great deep burst forth from? Or what caused such a great explosion?

These were just a few of the questions that led to one discovery after another as all of the scientific explorations were siphoned through the Word of God preserved in Holy Scripture.

Results of this research is a confirmation of the accuracy and authority of Holy Scripture.

After years of using Holy Scripture as a siphon, to sift through volumes of information, I am convinced that towering pillars of basalt with bases sunk deep into the earth’s foundation, were accurately being described 4000-years ago by Job 38:6.

Further research and exploration led to understanding Psalm 18:15 – a revelation about the foundation of earth being exposed by the event of Noah’s flood when ” … the channels of water appeared and the pillars of the earth were laid bare.” And Job 38 tells us this pillar-like foundation was formed at the very beginning of creation.

Genesis 7:11 eloquently describes a historic, earth-transforming event taking place, “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day were all the fountains of the great deep burst forth.”

Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved
(1 Chronicles 16:30)

The tall pillars we see at the ocean floor today are made of basalt. A rock formed by molten lava. Before hardening into a rock basalt starts out in a thick, fluid-like state similar in texture to a cake batter. Like cake batter, when molten lava cools it does not form tall sides unless it is injected within a mold.

The towering basalt pillars we observe at the ocean floor today had to be formed by the injection of molten magma into a mold prior to cooling and becoming a solid rock. This observation led to questioning . . . What geologic feature had served as a mold?

The discovery of this piece of the puzzle was a real challenge until the book of Psalms chapter 18 verse 15 presented a clue, “all the fountains of the great deep burst forth; the channels of water appeared, and the foundations of the world were laid bare,”

This verse of Holy Scripture indicates that earth was “all land” prior to the explosion that laid bare the foundation of earth, and it was the cap-rock above the intrusive foundation of basalt that served as a mold.

Psalm 18:15 confirms that what we see exposed at the ocean floor today was hidden until an earth-transforming explosion took place when … “all the fountains of the great deep burst forth; the channels of water appeared, and the foundations of the world were laid bare,” (Genesis 7:11).

Psalm 18:15 supernaturally reveals – there were no ocean basins prior to this great explosion.

Prior to this transformation the earth was “all land” with a smooth formless surface, and a void empty place that received water when the dry land appeared on day three of creation. The volume of water on our planet today is the same as it always was.

Cap-rock above the foundation provided a mold for the injection of molten lava and pillars of the earth were formed. 1 Samuel 2:8 – “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has established the world upon them”
